“Mindfulness means paying attention in a particular way; on purpose, in the present moment, and nonjudgmentally.”  This is the definition of Jon Kabat-Zinn, the founder of the Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction program at the University of Massachusetts Medical Center.  He is known for bringing mindfulness into the Western world on a secular level for use in everyday life.  Formal and informal practices of mindfulness have been found by many to increase calmness and improve one’s ability to pay attention. The resources within this website address many of the ways mindfulness may improve one’s wellbeing. In this section, books that address depression, attention deficit disorder, and anger are presented.
